Hello! My name is Prisela Martinez and I am an Illustration major. I have been interested in art and creation since I was in elementary. I would doodle and skecth random objects and meddle in coloring as well. It wasn't until high school that I discovered I could pursue an art-related career. My goal is to improve my skills and become a better artist. I want to work in children's book illustrations, or book illustrations in general is very interesting for me because I love to read.

New Advanced Skills
- CH.18: Layers and Stacking Order
- You are always working within the confines of the active layer. If you make a stroke on one layer, it will send that stroke behind the top most layers strokes, not on top.
- To select an object to lock it or hide it, you can scroll down search for it under the layers. Or you can go tot he layers panel fly-out menu and choose locate object, to automatically open that layer.
- To target an entire layer, you must choose the layer you want, go to appearance, and click stroke, and then choose line weight you want. Afterwards, you go to the effects menu, then pathfinder and click add to unite the entire stroke.
- CH.24: Live Paint and Interwoven Objects
- To color fill line art, click on the line art, then the live paint bucket, and on the swatches choose the color you want. Afterwards, click inside the artwork. You can then deselect the object and click on the other objects you want them same color.
- To view gaps, close the anchor points using Control-H, then go to object menu, choose live paint, and click on gap options. To change the gap size, you would go to custom gap size, and you can then change the size of your gap.
- To introduce a gradient, go to window menu and choose gradient. Drag the color shade you want to the right side of the gradient, then click on the page icon at the bottom of swatches panel, name it and click okay. It then shows up on the swatches panel.
